John Maltby (7) above, b. 1846, wrote: "My grandfather Isaac, came first from Vermont quite 100 years ago, and settled in Naples, N.Y. Hiram died and was buried in the sea, on his way home from South Carolina. His dau. Mary, married Glass. Delevan was discharged from service, Dec. 27, 1862, he had been in service 18 months; Was in Libby Prison. Co. E. Third Michigan Infantry, d. about 1878.
